Do you want to help develop the diaconal work in Själevad Parish?

We are now looking for a deacon with a focus on adults and the elderly.

As a deacon, you will become an important part of the joint team consisting of ten employees. You will also work closely with the parish's other deacon, whose role is primarily focused on children, young people, and families. Together, you will develop the diaconal work in the parish while taking responsibility for your respective areas of operation. We value good cooperation and personal responsibility, which we believe is both developmental and creates a pleasant working environment.

Your main task is to develop and coordinate the diaconal work of the parishes with a focus on adults and the elderly. You have a natural place in the parish's worship services, lead devotions in nursing homes, coordinate and inspire volunteers, are responsible for diaconal groups, conduct individual conversations, and are part of the deanery's deacon collegium.

In Själevad Parish, there is very good activity to build upon, but also room to let your gifts and your eye for needs shape the work. We are looking for someone who has the ability to take initiative and think and work creatively regarding the diaconal mission. You thrive both working independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. You are communicative and creative, flexible, and solution-oriented. You are a team player without ego, with the ability to create and maintain good relationships with parishioners, volunteers, and colleagues. You are receptive and have a good eye for diaconal needs in society.

We would appreciate if you have previous experience of diaconal work in a parish, with experience in pastoral care and working with people in economic and social vulnerability.

You are an ordained deacon, have basic computer skills, and can express yourself well in speech and writing. A B driver's license is required.
